About Elena Gustavson
I’ve spent more than twenty years working with nonprofits and businesses on the parts of organizational life that are genuinely hard to get right. The finances that don’t quite add up. The operations that depend too much on one person. The leadership moments that need someone calm and experienced in the corner.
My background spans program development, executive leadership, business advising, and owning and operating my own businesses. I’ve built organizations from the ground up, managed cash flow on a tight margin, and helped leaders navigate growth, transition, and the occasional mess. That range of experience shapes how I work: practically, without a lot of unnecessary process, and with real respect for how much you are already carrying.
I’ve worked at the Vermont Community Loan Fund advising and overseeing a portfolio of more than forty businesses. I’ve served as an interim executive director. I’ve built programs that are still running today. I bring that depth to every engagement.
I work with nonprofits and businesses in the $750K and above range, regionally and nationally. My engagements are needs-based, which means we start with what you actually need and build from there.
I’d love to hear what you are working on.
